British Isles 2022: Part 4: Cardiff, Wales

Day 1:

After our escape from London, we arrived at stop 3 of our journey: Cardiff!

Upon arrival, we found our hotel to drop off our stuff and then it was time to scope out some dinner. We decided on some savory pies at Pieminister across the street from the hotel.

After dinner, we walked around a bit, but most of the shops were closed for the day. But, we did grab some VERY chocolatey cake at Mrs Potts. The cake was called “The Matilda Cake” so I couldn’t resist trying.

Then it was back to the hotel to rest up for the night.

Day 2:

The next day, we grabbed some hotel breakfast.

Then it was off to Cardiff Castle!

After the morning at the castle, we stopped by Blue Bell for lunch. Of course, we had to try Welsh Rarebit while in Wales. Not sure if its for me.

But I did discover a new love at Cardiff Market: Welsh Cakes! A beautifully simple, sweet snack. The jam filled ones were my favorite.

After food we walked over to the National Museum Cardiff, which was a natural history and art museum rolled into one.

Then the rest of the evening, we just walked around town a bit before heading back to the hotel for the night.

Day 3:

Cardiff was just a quick stop for us, so we had to pack up and check out before we went about our day. Grabbed another round of welsh cakes and some sandwiches to pack for our journey later.

Then we popped in for a quick look at St John the Baptist Church.

Then it was off to the train station!

Next stop: Leeds!
