British Isles 2022: Part 5: Leeds, England

Day 1:

From Cardiff, our main destination was going to be Scotland, but we decided to break up that long stretch, with a small stop in Leeds.

After finding our hotel and getting checked in, we decided to walk around the arcades a bit. We also grabbed a quick bite of sushi while walking around.

Then we had a dessert craving and stopped at New Con Restaurant & Bar for some Sticky Toffee Pudding and tea.

From there, we ventured back to the hotel to call it a night.

Day 2:

Bright and early the next day, we made our way to Kirkstall Abbey. We had the place to ourselves most the morning. We even got a little private tour from the volunteer tour guide showed up (free tour, but they appreciate donations).

After roaming around the ruins, we found a place up the street for lunch called West End House. We enjoyed some Lamb & Mint Pies!

Once we were finished with lunch, we hopped on a bus back to the city center and then walked to our next destination from there, taking in the city sites along the way.

Our destination was the Royal Armories Museum. This had everything from medieval times all the way to the world wars. Lots and lots to see and we spent the rest of our afternoon there.

When the museum closed and we made our way back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. For dinner, we ventured across the street to The Botanist Bar & Restaurant for some drinks and appetizers.

Then it was back to the hotel to pack up for another travel day the next day.

Day 3:

Our last day wasn’t much of a day. We just checked out of the hotel and said our goodbyes to Leeds and we made our way to the train station. Leeds was a short but nice stop! One of our favorite ruins and museums of the trip.

Next stop: Edinburgh!
