Asia Adventure 2016: Part 7: Back to Seoul, South Korea

Our Asian Adventure: 10 Flights. 7 Cities. 5 Countries. All in 2 weeks.

The last stop on our trip took us back to Seoul, South Korea!

Day 1:

- Our flight from Yangon was an overnight flight, so first thing, we headed to our hotel to freshen up a bit. We decided to take it pretty easy this day, so our first stop was to Insa-dong for some lunch. It was our last few days in Korea, so we wanted to eat all our favorite street food again before we left. We also decided to give bulgogi a try.

- Next, we found a photo studio in Insa-dong that took pictures of us in traditional Korea dress.

- Throughout the day, as we were walking around, we noticed more and more police officers appearing. There we even buses bringing them in. We later found out that there a big protest happening that day. Not sure what it was about, but if was crazy to see so many cops out on the street (all those people in yellow vests).

- Later that day, to avoid the crazy crowds around the protest, we walked to Myeong-dong, for even more shopping and eating! We passed a really cute police station and I ended up buy way more socks than I ever needed.

Day 2:

- Day 2 was our actual touristy day and also our last day. We decided to go to Changdeokgoong Palace. It was a very beautiful palace, but I wish we had been there during the spring time so we could have seen all the flowers in bloom.

- Next, we walked to the near by Jongmyo Shrine. This shrine was built to honor the past kings and queen of Korea and where memorial services for them are preformed. We really enjoyed learning about the Confucian customs and rituals, since our trip thus far had been about Buddhism and Hinduism.

- Afterwards, we made our way back to the hotel, and it started snowing!

- And then we went to the airport. We did it! We made it through our first trip to Asia.

It was an amazing adventure and I can't wait for the next time we get the chance to back to Asia.
