Asia Adventure 2016: Part 6: Yangon, Myanmar

Our Asian Adventure: 10 Flights. 7 Cities. 5 Countries. All in 2 weeks.

The next stop on our trip took us to Yangon, Myanmar!

Day 1:

- We were only able to stay in Yangon one day, passing through on our way to catch our plane back to Seoul. But, while we were there, we wanted to check out the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the top most sacred Buddhist pagodas in Myanmar.

- We decided to walk there, instead of taking a taxi, so we could take in the city along the way.

- The one thing we forgot, was that is was 100 plus degrees outside. Halfway during our trek, we found a little mall & grabbed some smoothies to cool down.

- After out short break, we set out once again for the Shwedagon! The outside was quite beautiful and this was the first temple on our trip that actually had an escalator.

- Inside was the main golden stupa. And surrounding it was many mini temples and Buddhas. You can easily walk around for an hour or so to look at everything there.

- Afterwards, it was time to head back to the hotel to pack. But not before we had some fries! We missed them so much.

- Then it was back to the hotel and then on to the airport for the last leg of our trip!

We were only able to spend the afternoon, so I'm not sure what else Yangon has to offer. But if an afternoon is all you have, I would recommend checking out the Shwedagon, for sure.
