Seattle: Pike Place Market: My Favorite Stops
If you ever plan on visiting Seattle, Pike Place Market is must see spot. Pike Place includes a farmer's market, restaurants, and shopping. Here of a few places I love to stop at when I visit:
If you're in the mood for some of the best chowder, this is the place to go. I don't eat clams, so I don't know how their clam chowder measures up with Boston clam chowder. I go for the smoked salmon chowder. Its the best I've had. The lines are sometimes long, but its worth the wait.
Pastries, bread, coffee, and everything in between. This place has everything you want from a French bakery. Our favorite things to get are the feuilletes. They are puff pastry tarts filled with different things like chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, etc. The line is usually long, but moves quick. We like to grab a few things to go for a snack later.
A fun little comic book shop in some of the underground levels of Pike Place. A little hard to find, we stumbled upon it on accident the first time. Lots of new and old comic books, collectables and gifts, and a whole wall of Funko Pop! figurines. A great place for geeks like me to spend a few minutes and buy way more than you planned on.
Russian style pastries filled with everything from potatoes and meat to sweet things. Expect long lines, its a super popular place. My favorite thing to get is the Smoked Salmon Piroshky.
And there are so many more places, we still haven't seen it all. Every time we go there, we discover something new. Its definitely a must stop at place in Seattle for some food and shopping. Go hungry though, because there are so many good food places to check out! Including all the fresh fruit and vegetable stands!
